Sahara Desert Tour
Camel trekking and spending a night at the Berber camp in the Sahara Desert were definitely the highlights of our trip. We took a 2-day and 1 night Sahara Tour (small desert of Zagora). Since our schedule was tight, me and my friend (Angela- @gelasimon) decided to take the overnight desert trip to Zagora; a small desert. If you wish to see higher sand dunes then you can take the 3(4)-day desert trip to Merzouga. We were picked up from our Riad and left the city at 8 AM and drove over the snowy Atlas mountains. It was a long drive (about 9 hours) but the amazing scenery along the way made it bearable.

Ait Ben Haddou
This was the first stop of our Sahara desert adventure. The UNESCO heritage site where Game of Thrones, The Mummy, Gladiator and Prince of Persia were filmed.
Sahara Desert (Zagora)
Finally we made it to Sahara desert after a long drive. Upon arrival, adorable camels greeted us with what seemed like smiles. We rode camels for about 45 minutes across the desert to our Berber camp. It was our first experience riding on a camel. I was so nervous at first but the camels were very gentle and not at all scary. Unfortunately, we didn´t catch the sunset but somehow took delight in serenity of the night as we rode camels under the desert stars. It was a truly surreal experience.
